Welcome to the most beautiful island in America. You are invited to discover the quiet beauty of Acadia National Park with the same peaceful means of travel as was used by the Island's first summer visitors, the Penobscot Tribe of the Abenaki Indian Nation.
We encourage those who have never canoed, kayaked or biked, as well as those with experience, to get away from it all and enjoy what might be the highlight of your vacation to Acadia National Park.
We have the finest equipment available and are happy to assist you with instruction if needed. We ask that you make reservations (8 a.m. thru 8 p.m.) to avoid disappointment, particularly during the months of July and August.
Canoeing and kayaking in Acadia is sometimes at its best on misty or "chance of showers" days. And on many days when all the harbors are "fogged in" the sun is shining of Long Pond and other lakes.
We rent top quality lightweight ABS Royalex Old Town and Mohawk Canoes and Walden Kayaks. These boats are safe, stable and fun for all ages. And as always your pets welcome.
National Park Canoe Rental, Inc. not only offers sea kayak tours, but we now offer freshwater kayak tours on most of the lakes and ponds throughout Acadia National Park. Paddle the waters of Long Pond, Eagle Lake, Seal Cove Pond, Somes Pond, and others.
Learn about the natural history of the area while a licensed Maine Guide exercised their wildlife identification skills to educate you on what you see. Seeing the sights are only a fraction of the appreciation you can gain, but by learning more about what you see, you can gain a better understanding of your sightings role in the whole scheme of the natural world.
Since we are conveniently located at the north end of Long Pond, the largest lake in the Park, there is no need to transport a canoe or kayak atop your car. You simply have to put the canoe into the water and paddle on. We suggest that you bring: sunscreen, bathing suit, box lunch or snacks, and your camera.
Rates include paddles, U.S.C.G. approved life jackets, map and instructions. For your safety, we reserve the right to limit the number of persons in each canoe.
Avoid the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. Take advantage of our ample parking and easy-to-find location close to the carriage roads and Park entrance.
Experience the fresh air by biking the coastline of Acadia. Enjoy breathtaking views with a quiet ride around one of our many lakes and ponds.
We offer mountain and hybrid bikes rentals which include ANSI approved helmets, locks, water bottle cage and bike route maps.
