Getting to Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island
Getting Here By Air:

There are two airports that service the Mount Desert Island / Downeast region of Maine - the Bangor International Airport about 50 miles from Bar Harbor and the Hancock County Airport (A.K.A. The Bar Harbor Airport) which is about 15 miles from Bar Harbor.

Getting Here By Car:

Island Explorer:

Once on the island, the Island Explorer offers a convenient way to travel about the island. Clean propane-powered shuttle buses provide free transportation to hiking trails, carriage roads, beaches, and downtown centers as well as many island motels, inns, and campgrounds.
