The Acadia Vacations Web Site is different than most. We have focused on the Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor and Downeast Region of Maine. And, we offer personal recommendations on lodging and activities. You will notice that this site does not include long lists of businesses. We are limiting the number of listings to make it easier for you to locate a quality lodging and/or determine just the right recreation for you/your group.

My name is Stan Fleming. My son Mark and I developed Acadia Vacations with the sincere hope that it will help you derive maximum enjoyment from your time visiting Downeast Maine and Acadia National Park. We have included vacation planning information for Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, all of Mount Desert Island and Downeast Maine. For purposes of this Web Site Downeast Maine is considered coastal Maine from Bath to Wiscasset to Rockland to Camden to Belfast and north to Ellsworth & Bar Harbor along coastal Route 1. We have also included information on inland portions of Downeast Maine along Route 3 from Belfast to Augusta.

We have maintained a "focus" on providing meaningful and relevant vacation planning information. Mark started his photography career at the age of 9 and has taken most of the photos on this Web Site. He entered Rochester Institute of Technology in September of 2005 to study photojournalism.
